Pos Malaysia Berhad’s Group Head of Channel Management & Customer Experience Azmil Othman Merican said, “We are proud to present our homegrown cattle breeds through this new stamps series and at the same time, show our support for the country’s livestock industry. While many consumers seek for imported cattle products because of its perceived quality, we want the public to know that homegrown cattle offer comparable or better quality and are popular for various purposes.”

“Among the most well-known ones are the Kedah Kelantan, Nelore, Bali and Brahman cattle. This stamp series showcases the significant role of cattle in human history, having been domesticated for thousands of years and commonly raised as livestock for meat, milk and hides, which are used to make leather. This series and other collections by Pos Malaysia aim to provide educational and informational benefits, especially to the younger generation, and we will continue to do so for more years to come.”

Indigenous breeds of livestock represent valuable resources to their owners and countries. In Malaysia, the Kedah Kelantan (KK) is the only indigenous cattle breed and is mainly kept for meat production, popular among the small farm owners because of its small compact body size and low maintenance requirements.

There are 25,000 copies of First Day Covers (FDC) up for grabs and available for collection at 50 sen each while customers may get both the FDC with MS at just RM5.50 and FDC with stamp at RM5.70.
