Temporary Suspension of International Postal Services to the United States of America​

Dear valued customers,​

Pos Malaysia’s International Postal Services to the United States of America are temporarily suspended effective 25 August 2025 until further notice. ​

The affected services are as follows:​

• Express Mail Service (EMS)​
• International Air & Surface Parcel ​
• International Small Packet​
• Flexipack International​
• International Tracked Packet​
• International Mail​

The temporary suspension of these services is due to a recent U.S. executive order suspending the "de minimis" exemption, which previously allowed low-value shipments (valued under USD 800) to enter the U.S. duty-free with minimal customs processing.​

Airlines operating to the U.S. have informed international postal operators that they are not ready to accept or process postal consignments under the new customs requirements. This is due to the increased complexity of advance data submission, tax pre-declarations, and handling procedures upon arrival in the U.S.​
