Milestones

Pos Malaysia traces its roots to the early 1800s when postal services were first introduced in the Straits Settlements of Penang, Singapore and Malacca.

1800s

Postal services were established in the Straits Settlements.

1957

Upon the independence of Malaysia, the Postal Services Department was established as a government agency.

1976

The Postal Services Department implemented the postcode system.

1992

The Postal Services Department was corporatised as Pos Malaysia.

2001

Pos Malaysia was listed on Bursa Malaysia.

2007

Pos Malaysia restructured as a government-linked company (GLC).

2011

Khazanah Nasional Berhad announced the sale of 32.2% stake in Pos Malaysia to DRB-HICOM.

2016

Established subsidiaries Pos Aviation, Pos Logistics and Pos ACE

2017

Pos Malaysia's Integrated Parcel Centre (IPC) in Shah Alam upgraded, increasing processing capacity from 112,000 to 300,000 items a day.

2018

Pos Malaysia embarked on a transformation journey to establish itself as a dynamic postal, logistics, aviation, financial and supply chain solutions provider with the largest delivery and touchpoint network in Malaysia.

2019

The deployment of semi-automated processing systems at 20 Pos Laju centres to speed up the processing of parcels and deliveries to customers.

2020

Pos Malaysia launched AskPos, a web-based customer support service with a LIVE Chat feature.
