Kuala Lumpur, Friday – Pos Malaysia Berhad (Pos Malaysia) will be issuing the second edition of the “Tourist Destinations” stamp series featuring popular tourist destinations in Pahang, Perak and Terengganu on Tuesday, 21 November 2017.
Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said among the popular destinations which are featured on the stamps are Istana Abu Bakar (Pahang), Bukit Fraser (Pahang), Menara Condong Teluk Intan (Perak), Pulau Pangkor (Perak), Masjid Kristal (Terengganu), Muzium Negeri Terengganu and others.
“We hope that this title will help to promote and spark the tourism industry in Pahang, Perak and Terengganu as it comes with three se-tenant stamps featuring popular tourist attractions that can be found in the northern and east coast region of Peninsular Malaysia.
“There are only 256,000 pieces for each se-tenant stamp. Further reading about the destinations can be done via the informative complimentary brochure provided together with the First Day Cover which only costs 55sen per piece.
“Therefore, I encourage the public and stamp enthusiasts to purchase their copies immediately before it runs out of stock as we will not reproduce the stamp,” he said in a statement today.
Besides the three se-tenant stamps, other philatelic product that comes with this issuance are first day covers (32,000 pieces) and folders (1,800 pieces) which are priced at 55sen and RM6.35 respectively. Additionally, the cancellation mark will feature three important travel equipment which are the camera, goggle, and binocular.
Last year, Pos Malaysia issued the first edition of “Tourist Destination” series featuring interesting places in Kedah and Kelantan.
Dato’ Mohd Shukrie also urge the stamp collectors to open a Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) as it provides convenience for stamp collectors to purchase the first day stamp issuance and philatelic products without queuing at post offices on the issue day.
“Stamp collectors can open an account with a minimum deposit of RM50.00 with a standing order to receive stamps and philatelic products. This is subject to sufficient balance in the SODA account.
“The total purchase price for the products, postage and registration will be deducted from the SODA account. A statement together with the products will be dispatched to the account holder for each new issue released.
“The account holder will continue to receive stamps and philatelic products of each new issue so long there is sufficient balance in the account. All account holders can top up their account online through Philately Online (www.posonline.com.my) or through our Post office counters,” he explained.
