Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the important update about?

To better meet our customers’ evolving needs and reduce our environmental impact, Pos Malaysia will be transitioning from daily to an alternate-day mail delivery schedule. In addition to the ongoing trial in Sungai Siput, Perak, this change will be extended to additional selected areas starting 9 February 2026.

Which areas / postcodes are affected?

How will this affect me?

If you live or work in the areas listed above, your mail will be delivered every other day instead of daily, excluding weekends and public holidays. This means there will be an extra day between deliveries.

What types of mail are included and how often will they be delivered?

The new delivery schedule applies to all standard mail (such as letters, postcards) as well as registered mail (also known as PosDaftar).

During the trial, these will be delivered 2-3 times per week. There will be no deliveries on weekends and public holidays, as per our current practice.

Why were these areas selected for the trial?

Following the initial trial in Sungai Siput, Perak, we will test the new mail delivery model across a wider geography. These locations were chosen to represent different facility sizes and a balanced mix of urban, suburban, and rural settings. We believe this selection provides a strong representation of the operational requirements.

Why is Pos Malaysia making this change?

We are making this change for several key reasons:
  • Environmental Impact: Reducing the frequency of mail delivery helps lower our carbon footprint by decreasing fuel consumption and emissions.
  • Customer Trends: With the rise of digital communication, the volume of traditional mail has decreased, making alternate-day delivery a practical and sustainable option.
  • Operational Efficiency: This change allows us to streamline operations and allocate resources more effectively, ensuring we continue to provide a reliable service.

Notwithstanding the change, we are committed to ensuring the quality and reliability of our services. We remain dedicated to serving you.

Can I still post my letters as usual?

Yes! You can continue posting your mail at any postbox or post office as usual, nationwide.

What if I am expecting urgent mail?

All mail will follow the new delivery schedule during the trial – and this applies only to the areas listed above. For urgent deliveries, items can be sent via Pos Laju.

Will courier parcel deliveries be affected?

No, Pos Laju courier parcel delivery services will continue operating as usual. You can expect the same great service for your parcels throughout this trial.

Who should I contact for more information or assistance?

Please contact Pos Malaysia at 1-300-300-300 or chat with AskPos at www.pos.com.my.

What happens after the trial ends?

Pos Malaysia will closely monitor delivery performance and customer feedback throughout the trial. At the end of the trial there will be a formal review, and the outcome of that review and the decision will be shared with all stakeholders.
