The effective date of GST implementation for prepaid mail services will be on 1 October 2016.

GST will be charged upon lodgement or posting of mails at Business Mail Centre (BMC).

GST charges are as follows:
a) Exclusive 6% GST charges upon lodgement or posting of domestic mail; and
b) Zero rated GST charges for international mail.

Yes. Tax invoice will be generated once the amounts of lodgement or posting are deducted from the customer’s imprest account.

No. It is compulsory to use different docket for domestic mail and international mail.

The types of document that customers are required to prepare for lodgement or posting at BMC’s counter are as follows:

The effective date of GST implementation for franking services will be on 1 October 2016.

GST will be charged upon top-up payment for franking services.

GST charges are as follows:
a) Exclusive 6% GST charges upon domestic mail; and
b) Zero rated GST charges for international mail.

Tax invoice will be generated once the top up payment is updated. Customer may contact Franking Unit at 03-55653282 / 3283 to request for the tax invoice. However, for top up payment via cheque, transaction will be processed after 3 working days and tax invoice will be generated once the cheque has been processed.

Customer IS ADVISED to use a different unit of franking machine to frank domestic or international mail. However, we DO NOT ALLOW international franking machine to be used for domestic mail item.

Yes. International franking machine should be able to print an international indicator such as a symbol as the following example:

Yes. Customer may choose the alternative solutions:
a. Customer may purchase international stamp at the post offices counter; or
b. Register as a licensed prepaid mail services customer; or
c. Proceed to Pos Malaysia’s service counter located at the General Post Office Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur for franking services.
